Mehler, Frederick "Fred" age 52, of Moundsville WV closed his crystal blue eyes for the last time on July 11, 2023.
He entered the gates of heaven as he lived his life, with grace and in peace. He graduated from Bishop Donahue High School and West Liberty State College. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish and a true disciple of the Lord. He worked at the Convenient Food Mart in Moundsville and at CVS for over 26 years. "Uncle Freddy's" heart and soul was some of God's best work - he was kind and fun, and a true friend to all who met him.
He loved dumb movies, and even dumber jokes. He enjoyed listening to music, he loved cars and was the best "cat dad". He made sure to always have cat food in his car to feed strays, was always up for something fun and was never shy about showing how golden his heart truly was.
The true loves of his life were his nephew Chaz and his niece, Josie. He was a significant presence in their lives from the very beginning, was full of pride and was there for everything they did, big or small. Always up to spend time with them, it never mattered how busy, he was always willing to go somewhere whether to help out or just to drive around.
Fred was preceded in death by his dad, Fred Mehler and his mom, Judy Mehler. His missed them each and every day and we are certain they were present to welcome him home. Several aunts and uncles also precede him. He leaves behind a brother, Gary Mehler (Stephanie), a sister, Chris Frizzell (Chuck), nieces Kortnee Phillips, Josie Frizzell and Macie Witt ; nephews Tyler Mehler and Chaz Frizzell, great nieces Laylee Phillips, Mia Davidson and Aria Mehler and great nephews Kashton Phillips and William Davidson, aunts, numerous cousins and dear friends, including very special friends Danna and Deon Foster, who's company he always enjoyed..
Family will receive friends on Friday, July 14 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville with Rosary Devotions at 7:30.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 610 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville with Father Joe Mandokkara Augustine as celebrant.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
