JOHN PRZELENSKI, SR.

John Eugene Przelenski, Sr. "Smudge", 87, of Wheeling, WV, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 2, 2023.

He was born May 22, 1936, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Henry Walter and Sophia Meduna Przelenski.

Gene was a graduate of McKinley Vocational High School and retired as the Owner of WV Bakery Supplies after 27 years. He retired as a Mutual Clerk at the Meadows Racetrack and worked at Wheeling Island Racetrack & Casino.

He was an OVAC official and member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Gene was a hard worker who liked all sports, especially horseracing. He enjoyed giving gag gifts out every year at Christmas to his children & grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Henry Prze- lenski; sister, Irene Comer; and daughter- in-law, Paula H. Przelenski.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ann McCoid Przelenski. They just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 8, 2023. Also surviving are his 5 children, Terri A. Phillips, John E. Przelenski, Jr., Bart A. Przelenski, Rebecca S. (Randy) Forney & Christine L. (James) Rudol; 5 grandchildren, Kyle (Brittany), Jonathan & Alexandra (Logan Gloster) Przelenski, and Sophia & Andrew Rudol; 1 great-grandson, James; and several nieces & nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 4-8 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (#304-242-2311) where a Rosary Devotion will be held at 7:30 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 2244 Marshall Avenue, Wheeling, WV with Father Jeeson V. Stephan as celebrant.
