VINCENT CHIAZZA

Vincent Michael Chiazza, born March 15, 1942, peacefully passed away on July 15, 2023, at the age of 81 in his hometown of Wheeling, WV. Vincent had a fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.

Vincent was formerly employed by the WV Department of Highways, where he dedicated his skills and passion for his work. He also enjoyed working at the Rehoboth Bay Marina and the Cherokee Trading Post. Vincent's commitment and dedication to customer service were evident throughout his professional journey.

Outside of work, Vince found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He thoroughly enjoyed camping and boating, which allowed him to embrace nature and spend quality time with loved ones. These hobbies brought him much happiness and created lasting memories that will be treasured by those who had the privilege of sharing these experiences with him.

Vincent's service to his country was another significant aspect of his life. He proudly served as a U.S. Navy veteran and bravely contributed his efforts during the Vietnam War. His selflessness and courage are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose (Zambito) Chiazza. He leaves behind a loving and devoted family, including his wife of 22 years, Sue (Fugate) Chiazza. His memory will be forever cherished by his son, Michael V. Chiazza, and his wife, Jen, as well as his daughters, Lisa Chiazza Mayles and Michelle Dietrich, along with her husband, Carl. Additionally, he is survived by his stepson, Kevin Barton, and stepdaughter, Kelly Barton.

Vincent's presence will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Michael Chiazza, Jr., and his wife, Christy; Whitney Kandis, and her husband, Zack; Britney Chiazza; Chase Mortakis; Bailey Mortakis; Troy Mortakis; Derek Mayles; Kyle Dietrich; Cassandra Dietrich; Ethan Dietrich; Kevin Barton, Jr.; Kayla Straight, and her husband Jim; and Kathleen Tracey, and her husband Timmy. His great-grandchildren, Riley Chiazza; Morgan Kandis; Devyn Kandis; Chayce Mamula; Caden Mamula; Klara Straight; and Kameron Straight, will carry his memory with them as they grow.

In addition to his family, Vincent is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.

As per Vincent's wishes, there will be no public visitation. A private service to honor his life will be held to celebrate the memories and pay tribute to a remarkable man who touched the lives of so many. Vincent's spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
