ALVIN PRETTYMAN SR.

Alvin Albert Prettyman Sr., 88, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at his home.

He was born August 20, 1934, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Otis Alvin Prettyman and Helen Maxine Hood Freese.

Alvin was a retired roofer & welder from the Maintenance De- partment at Ohio County Schools and a member of the Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church. He was for a long time involved with the Ohio Valley Mountain Men and was a Civil War/ Revolutionary War reenactor.

Alvin was very mechanical and could make anything he fixed work. He enjoyed restoring & riding old cars and motorcycles. He also loved to hunt & fish, watching westerns with his beloved dog & going to Florida for the winters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Eva Ann Price Prettyman in 1979; 2nd wife, Mineta Jane Marple Prettyman in 2021; 2 sons, Wayne A. Prettyman & Ronald J. Prettyman, Sr.; grandson, Ronald J. Prettyman, Jr.; sister, Blanche Carney; and 4 brothers, Tom, Chuck & Bill White, and Joseph Prettyman.

Alvin is survived by son, Alvin (Katherine) Prettyman, Jr.; daugh- ter, Diane Prettyman; stepson, Douglas (Sherry) Conrad; stepdaughter, Donna Miller; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; his dog, Jack; and many nieces & nephews.

Friends will be received on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 4-8 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (#304-242- 2311) where services will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 11 AM with Reverend Margie Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

A luncheon will be held at Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church, 45 Chapel Road, Wheeling, WV after the interment.
