Dolores "Dodie" Williams Scherich, 90, died August 1, 2023 at Astoria Place, Barnesville, OH.
She was born March 20, 1933, daughter of the late Curtis, Sr. and Edith Forshey Williams.
Dodie was a longtime member of the Green Acres Home- makers/CEOs, involv- ed in Oglebayfest, 4-H, Women's Club of Wheeling and taught many crafts, gardening and cake decorating before moving to Bethesda, OH in 1975. She was the bookkeeper for her husband, Bob Scherich, at Hilltop Gulf Station and Car Wash for many years. They moved back to their neighborhood in Wheeling in 2004 and enjoyed their dogs, baking and sunsets. In 2019, health issues required a return to Ohio and the care of the staff at Astoria Place.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Scherich who passed away in 2010, after their 60th wedding anniversary on July 29th; siblings, Tom Williams, Barbara Juber, Sandy Burch and infant, Gloria Williams.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Elswick; two grand- children, Christopher (Carley) Elswick and Kimberly (John) Hyde; two great grandchildren, Caden and Emma Hyde; brother, Curtis Williams, Jr.; niece, Diana Slabaugh; great nephew, Brandon Slabaugh; nephews, Curtis Williams III and J.J. Juber; brother-in- law, Ray Scherich; and several other nieces and nephews out of the area.
