Our mother passed peacefully into eternal life on Saturday August 26, 2023, surrounded by her precious family. Betty was born in Wheeling on September 3, 1932, daughter of the late Edna Simon Coram and Charles T. Coram.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Voellinger in 2017, her husband of 35 years, Harold Voellinger in 1986 and her husband of 25 years, Anthony "Tony" Purpura in 2015.
Her memory will live on through her loving children; sons, Michael (Linda) Voellinger, Bruce (Robin) Voellinger, Mark (Cathy) Voellinger, Keith (Jennifer) Voellinger, John (Lori) Voellinger and daughter Beth (Joe) Key, Joyce (Ben) Calamia, Tony (Sally) Purpura, as well as her niece and nephew Sally and Rob Wodusky who were so special to her. Betty is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Betty was best known for her many years of management service at Elby's and Ernie's Cork and Bottle.
Betty took joy in many things, but none more than big family gatherings that included a good game of euchre. Her fierce love of her family will forever remain in their hearts. In accordance with Betty's wishes there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements provided by Altmeyer Funeral Homes.
Betty's family wishes to thank Dr. Brad Schmitt for his kindness and compassion he showed their mother for many years and especially at the end of her life.
