James "Brent" Wolfe, of Moundsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at the age of 82.
He was the beloved husband of 60 years of Karen (Persinger) Wolfe; son of the late James and Betty (Lilley) Wolfe; brother of Sonnie (Bill) Groft of Moundsville and Gary (Beth) Wolfe of McMechen; loving father of Dan Wolfe of Moundsville, Amy (Tom) Shope of Venetia, PA, and Kara (Rhett) Kennedy of Bradford, PA; very proud Pap Pap to 9 grandchildren: Alison (David) Anderson and Cole Wolfe, Andrew (Emily), Adam (Carolyn), and Laura Shope, and Brent, Hugh, Rhys, and Ward Kennedy; and great-grandfather to Kaleb, Kolton, Kruze, and Wrenley James Anderson. He will also be dearly missed by his canine companion, Ginger Moondust.
Brent was born in Glen Dale on January 26, 1941. He graduated from Moundsville High School in 1958 and then proudly served as a Specialist E-5 in the United States Army and as a Radar Crew Chief with the Ohio National Guard. Brent was proud of his service with the Nike Missile Defense System including sites located in the Pittsburgh area.
Brent was a well-known pillar of the Ohio Valley car sales community for 40 years. From sales to management and ownership (former Valley Dodge Sales), Brent's fun-loving spirit and focus on customer satisfaction were legendary. In retirement, Brent kept busy by serving as a security guard on oil and gas sites in the Valley.
Brent was an avid WVU and Pittsburgh sports fan and a member of the Earl Francis American Legion Post #3 of Moundsville, WV., the Little Prince Lodge #79 of the Knights of Pythias, and the First Presbyterian Church of Moundsville where he had served as a Deacon.
In his own words, Brent noted "I really believe I've had a great life and beautiful family, Thanks to God."
In keeping with Brent's wishes, funeral services will be private.
