JONETTE BAUER

Jonette M. Bauer, 62, of Wheeling, West Virginia, has passed away peacefully in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was born March 15, 1961 as the daughter of the late C "Jack" Savage and Theresa (Kammer) Savage. She was a 1979 graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School and a 1983 graduate of West Liberty University.

Member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and as of recently St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Raleigh, North Carolina

Her greatest titles were Wife, Mom, and Grandma. She went to every school or sporting function. She followed our jobs like it was her job. She made sure she always read to us and that we were always learning. She instilled in us kindness, generosity, and faith. She loved her only grandson, Henry, with her whole heart and watching him grow was her greatest blessing.

Jonette was an avid shopper and loved finding a deal even if she had to return something 5 times, creating a Pinterest worthy house with decorations she made herself, spending time with family and friends – including family dinners, playing trivia/board games, traveling, bike riding with her husband, reading books, going to exercise class, volunteering at church and in the community, sending her family texts that said "Hellllooooo??" if we didn't answer within 2 minutes, praying the rosary, and going to church.

Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Gregory Bauer, daughter, Lauren Barrett and husband James of Raleigh, North Carolina; a son, Kyle Bauer of Chicago, Illinois; 3 older sisters Marla Breitinger, Charlene Gillot and husband David all of Wheeling and Terri Tesoriero and husband Michael of Palm City, FL; an older brother, Charles J. Savage and wife Cathy of Wheeling; 12 nieces and nephews; and her greatest joy, her only grandson, Henry Barrett, 4, of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 25th, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
