Mary Louise Bowers, 77, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at Trinity West, Steubenville, OH.
She was born in Wheeling, July 16, 1946, a daughter of the late Vincent and Alberta (Coutz) Niehaus. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and retired from the US Post Office as a clerk after many years of service. In her free time Mary enjoyed camping, playing bingo, board games, and puzzles.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gaylord L. Bowers; her son, Richard A. Bowers and her brother, Daniel Niehaus..
Mary is survived by her daughter, Rebecca A. Casto; two sisters, Rita Bowers and Donna (Pat) Milliken; three grandchildren, Nikki Barker, Wilson West and Jessica West; one great- granddaughter, Peyton Leann Gieger and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Friday, August 4 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St. with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, August 5 at 11 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Entombment to follow at Parkview Memorial Gardens.
