NELDA GLOVER

Nelda Kocher Glover, 87, of New Martinsville, WV departed this life while surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 6, 2023.

She was born on August 23, 1935, in Pine Grove, WV, daughter of the late Inez and Norman Earle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Sheldon Max Kocher in 1992; her second husband, Col. William L. Glover in 2012; sister, Freda Kocher; brother-in-law, Norman Kocher in 1992.

Nelda is survived by daughter, Michelle "Mickie" Kocher-Hall; granddaughters, Abi (Josh) Whiteman and Carly (Duncan) McEldowney; grandson, Cody Max Hall; great granddaughter, Riley; great grandsons, Kaleb, Kaiden, Bentley, Lincoln, Westen and her sixth due in August 2023; stepdaughter, Lesley (David) Nevers; stepsons, William J. Glover and Jeff (Deanna) Glover; step grandsons, Clay and Jake; step granddaughters, Lane, Lily, Caroline, Emily and many cousins and many friends.

A special thanks to her cousin and caregiver, Erica Rodriguez, Stonerise Health Care Center of Moundsville and Amedisys Hospice.

Nelda was a graduate of Pine Grove High School in 1953 where she was a majorette and cheerleader. A graduate of WV Business College in Clarksburg, WV. She had a very busy life working in Clarksburg, WV, PPG Industries (17 ¢ years) Natrium Plant, founder of the Lighthouse Christian Bookstore; Wetzel County Sheriff's Tax Office and elected as Circuit Clerk in 1986. She retired in 1993 and moved to Kansas City, MO for a few years.

Nelda loved music and was a choir director and played the organ and piano for several years at the Christian Church in Paden City and Missouri. She was a devout Christian, member of the Eastern Star where she was Worthy Matron twice and Friends Club and Wetzel County Democrat Women.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, August 10, 2023. Burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville.
