Shirley Ann Soltesz, 84 of Bridgeport, OH (formerly of Wheeling, WV). Born Feb. 7, 1939. Died Aug. 21, 2023.
A mother's love knows no bounds and is always with her children. Growing up in North Wheeling, Shirley started working at 15. She was a cashier and then started working as a secretary where she met the love of her life, P. Paul Soltesz, who passed in 1986.
Also preceding her in death were her mother and father, Genevieve and Irvin Crabtree. She is survived by four children: Cindy Soltesz of Blaine, OH, Steven Soltesz of Wheeling, WV, Paula (John Kloss) of Lansing, OH, David Soltesz (Melissa Gollie) of Moundsville, WV, and four grandchildren: Johnathan, Sapphire, Sydney, and Savannah. She also unofficially adopted some of her children's closest friends and thought of them as her own. She is also survived by a brother Larry (Chris) Crabtree and sister Carolyn Crabtree along with many nieces and nephews.
Shirley took pride as a mother and homemaker but also took pride in her work and volunteer activities outside the home from housekeeping at the Fort Henry Club, to being a scout leader, to the DAV Auxiliary.
Visitation will be Friday, August 25, at Kepner's Funeral Home at 166 Kruger St. from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with a short service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Parkview Memorial Gardens.
