Anna Marie Sligar Orth Shores, 85, of Wheeling, WV passed away on September 18, 2023 at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV.
She was born on January 18, 1938, in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Arch and Hazel (Martin) Sligar.
Anna was a graduate of Triadelphia High School and was a retired employee of WesBanco Bank Elm Grove and for many years at Christmas greeted customers as Mrs. Claus during the bank appreciation days. Ann was an avid reader and enjoyed crafting and making floral arrangements. She was a proud grandmother who never missed an event her grandchildren were involved in.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Paul Orth & Henry Richard "Hank" Shores; beloved graddaughter, Jamie Lynn Orth Taylor; and a brother, Arch Sligar.
Anna is survived by 2 sons, Michael P. (Brenda) Orth & Thomas A. Orth; 3 grandsons, Kevin (Janelle) Orth, Ryan Orth & Matt (Jane Ann) Horton; 5 great- grandchildren, Henry Orth and Matthew, Andrea, Emma & Campbell Horton; and a great friend, Jody Usenick.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 11 AM until the time of service at 2 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (#304-242-2311) with Minister Ryan Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling, WV.
