Donald Harry Waddell, 93, of Valley Grove, WV, died at home surrounded by his family Monday, September 25, 2023.
He was born September 7, 1930, son of the late Joseph and Rhea Keyser Waddell.
Don was a 1948 graduate of Warwood High School and a member of the Elm Grove United Methodist Church.
He retired as a dairy farmer. His love was farming and in the 1980's, he was the Northern District Farmer of the Year.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Kitchen; four brothers, Jack, Robert, Joseph and Richard Waddell; grandson, Casey Waddell; and ex-wife, Nancy Fisher.
He is survived by his sons, David Waddell and Donald (Deborah) Waddell; grandchildren, Seth (Amber) Waddell, Vicki (Scott) Speakman, Missy (Mike) Vargo, Neil Knight and Amber (David) Stone; great- grandchildren, Isaac and Cadence Waddell and Ashley and Wanda Gorby; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM with Pastor Debra Dague officiating at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-242-2311).
Interment to follow in Short Creek Cemetery.
