ELIZABETH HARDESTY

Elizabeth Kepner Hardesty, 94, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Sanctuary Grande.

Betty was born in Wheeling, WV, on August 13, 1929, daughter of the late Wade Hull and Martha Nay Kepner.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Helen (Richard) Mauer.

She was a retired administrative assistant to the Vice President of North Central Technical College in Mansfield, Ohio.

Betty was loved by her family and friends. She was an empathetic listener and a witty conversationalist. A life-long lover of dogs, Betty volunteered at Columbus Humane Society, which led to her rescuing Buster, her favorite dog. She also enjoyed being on the cutting edge of new technology even into her late 80s, surprising her family with her iPad abilities and buzzing around Columbus in Ubers.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Debra Elizabeth Howard (Michael) of North Canton, OH; son, Jeffrey Donald Hardesty (Sheila) of Dublin, OH; two granddaughters, Courtney Anne Howard (Kevin Gingras) of Washington, DC, and Shannon Marie Howard of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, John W. Kepner of Wheeling, WV; two sister-in-laws, Kay Porter of Bridgeport, OH, and Cindy Mayer of Monticello, KY; and her nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling, WV on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 1-2 p.m., with service to follow. Rev. Margie Carr will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
