Janice Mucheck, 58, peacefully passed away on September 21, 2023 at the Home of the Good Shepherd, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 11, 1965, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late John and Nancy (Smith) Hawk.
Janice dedicated many years of her life to the family medical profession, working alongside Dr. James Comerci and at Wheeling Hospital. Her commitment and attention to detail were highly regarded by both colleagues and patients alike.
Janice was also a valued member of the Benwood Fire Department Auxiliary, where she contributed her time and support to the community she cherished.
Janice is survived by her loving husband, Mike Mucheck of Wheeling; daughter, Chrissy Mucheck of Wheeling; sister, Jonna Hawk and husband, Wade Rotholz of Texas; grandson, Geiger; several nieces and nephews; and one great-nephew.
Services to honor and remember Janice's life will be held at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, WV. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Final respects may be paid on Monday, September 25, at 10 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., officiated by Reverend Rodney Hubbs. Janice will be laid to rest at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens.
The Mucheck family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Comerci and his staff, as well as the administration and the caring staff at the Home of the Good Shepherd and the 3rd Floor N. staff. They would also like to express their appreciation to the compassionate staff at Amedysis Hospice.
During this difficult time, may we find solace in the memories of Janice's kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones and her community. She will forever be remembered as a beacon of love and compassion in the hearts of those who knew her.
