Mark "Hands" Allen McGowan, 61, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at his residence.
Mark was born on April 28, 1962 in Wheeling, WV. He was the son of Marjorie Grace (Bayless) McGowan of Wellsburg, WV and the late Daniel Edward McGowan.
Mark retired after 20 years of service to the Brooke County Board of Education as a Custodian. Many will remember Mark for always telling jokes and making people laugh, lending a helping hand to friends and spending time with family and friends; but most of all, he was a loving son, father and brother.
In addition to his father, Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert McGowan.
In addition to his mother, Mark is survived by his two sons, Marc McGowan and Robert Bailey, three siblings, Daniel L. McGowan and his wife, Mary Ann, David W. McGowan and his wife, Robin and Tamara J. Santora and her husband, Michael and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, (304)737-3551.
