Rosemary Fitzgerald Coury, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2023, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
She was born on January 30, 1930, in Wheeling, WV, to the late William and Amelia Fitzgerald. Rosemary lived a fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and commitment. Her career as a Teacher with Ohio County Schools spanned several decades, where she touched the lives of countless students. Her passion for education led her to be an active participant in various educational programs, where she Directed Early Childhood Education in Ohio County. Rosemary's dedication extended beyond the classroom, as she coordinated the Extension of Right to Read Program for Ohio County and played a pivotal role in developing the Ohio County Teacher Sponsor's Handbook and the Student's Fire Prevention Handbook for Ohio County Public and Parochial Schools. She further served as the Elementary Coordinator and Director of Elementary Instructional Services for Ohio County Schools.
Rosemary is survived by her loving husband, Richard "Dick" Coury, whom she cherished.
