Delma J. Sears, 85, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at her home.
She was born September 3, 1938, in Moundsville, WV, the daughter of the late Raymond O. and Margaret Z. Burkey Wood.
Delma was a former employee of G.C. Murphy, Murphy Mart and Ames where she was employed for 30 years.
One of Delma's favorite things to do was to sing karaoke, she enjoyed crocheting, photography, and playing board games with her family especially euchre, loved her Pittsburgh Steelers, and was a Methodist by faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Sears; two brothers, Louis R. and Donald L. Wood.
Survivors include three sons, Perry (Cathy) Sears of New Martinsville, Jeffrey (Natasha) Sears, and John (Sherry) Sears all of Moundsville; six grandchildren whom she was affectionately known as "Grand Master G" Nicole, Aaron, Ryan, Tom, and JD Sears and David Bradley; seven great grandchildren, Isaac, Desmond, Rider, Dallas, Dominic, Raelynn, and Kason; a sister, Ella Nadine (Floyd) Morgan of Hoopston, IL; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Wendt; and nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, WV, with Rev. Mary Ann Nolte officiating.
Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
