Hazel Myrtle (Miller) Coen, 101, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully at 8:06 p.m on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.
Hazel was born on December 24, 1921, in Piney, WV. She was the daughter of the late Jacob Miller and Margaret (Nolan) Miller.
Hazel was a member of the Church of Christ in Piney and Sunset Ave. Wellsburg. Many will remember Hazel for her love of sewing and embroidering, planting her flower and vegetable gardens.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Everett J. Coen, two children, Sharon Mitchell and her husband, Donald and Everette Fay Coen and his wife, Linda Jo, two grandchildren, and siblings, Olive McHenry, Hobert, Wilson and Evertt Miller and Phyllis and Jessie Coen.
Hazel is survived by her children, Erwin Ray Coen Sr. and his wife, Sharon of Wellsburg, WV, Charlotte Minda and her husband, John of West Liberty, WV, Darrell Coen and his wife, Debbie of Wheeling, WV, Darlene "Sue" Porter and her husband, John of Bridgeport, OH, and Marvin Coen and his wife, Maureen of Wellsburg, WV, 19 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Monday, October 16, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service 11 a.m. at Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV, 304-737-3551 with Minister Larry Lemasters, officiating.
Interment at Parkview Memorial Park, Wheeling, WV.
