James "Jim" "Mac" Andrew McGlumphy, 75, of Wheeling, passed away Thursday October 5, 2023 at Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.
He was born May 20, 1948, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Julian (Mac) and Anna (Baker) McGlumphy.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, a Member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 12830, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was awarded the Bishop's Cross in 2015. After Jim graduated from Marist College he began his teaching and coaching career at Wheeling Central HS. He then went on to teach in Ohio County Schools where he eventually became the County Technology Coordinator. Jim came out of retirement to teach more recently at Corpus Christi School.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jackie (Stewart) McGlumphy; his two daughters, Kate McGlumphy and Lori McGlumphy; two sisters, Judith A. (Rick) Daugherty, Jody A. (Gary) Miller; two brothers, Jerry A. McGlumphy, Joseph A. (Linda) McGlumphy, many nieces and nephews and former students.
Friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Friday October 13, 2023 from 1 - 4 pm and again from 5 - 8 pm at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., (304- 277-2722). A Mem- orial Mass will be held on Saturday October 14, 2023 at 11 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1508 Warwood Ave., Wheeling.
Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, or The Ancient Order of Hibernians of Wheeling.
