Janet Rodriguez, 94, of Wheeling, WV died on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in the Wheeling Hospital.
Janet was born in Logan, WV with her twin sister, Jane, to Mr. & Mrs. M.B. Kendall. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Roberta, and her son, Philip.
She was a graduate of Logan High School and WVU with an MA in Education & English. She taught school at Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, WV as well as Beckley College (now WVU). She also taught at Wheeling High School, Wheeling Park High School, and at Wheeling Jesuit University where she worked in the Teacher Education Program. After retirement she taught Watercolor at Art Works Around Town.
Janet was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, Art Works Around Town, Wheeling Newcomer's Club, West Virginia Watercolor Society, and was a lifetime exhibitor of "100 West Virginia Women Artists" at the University of Charleston.
She is survived by her children, Joe (Mary), Frankie, Eddie, Lisa (Bud), Kathy, Susan (Jim), and Tom (Janet). She had 3 grandchildren: Jenni (Shelton), Sarah (Jeff), and Jake, as well as 2 great-grandchildren: Camille & Edyn, and her twin sister Jane and her family.
Friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 900 National Road, Wheeling, WV (#304-232-2732).
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Cathedral, 1300 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV with Father Sateesh Narisetti as celebrant. Interment will follow in Greenwood Ceme- tery.
