Malinda Lewis (Whalen) Newman, 55, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Tuesday October 3, 2023, at home.
She was born August 15, 1968 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Malachy Whalen & Patricia (Templeton) Whalen.
Malinda attended Sewickley Academy and St Mark's for high school. She earned a BA from Northwestern University and earned two Master's degrees from Loyola University for Social Work, and St. John's University for Library Sciences. She served as a librarian at St. Clairsville Public Library for over a decade.
She is preceded in death by her late mother, Patricia (Templeton) Whalen.
Malinda is survived by her husband, Timothy Newman; her three children, Robert, Malachy (Mac), and Alice Newman; her father Malachy Whalen; two brothers, Clark Whalen and Claude Whalen; her aunt, Paula Templeton; and her in-laws Lawrence Newman and Ruth Bruun.
She will be remembered as an energetic, outgoing and fun woman who was full of spirit and loved by many.
She was a loving mother and wife, and she will be missed.
