Alfred Glenn Bowen Jr., fondly known as Pap to his family, left this world on November 17, 2023, at the age of 85. Born on June 12, 1938, in Paden City, WV, and passing in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Alfred's greatest source of pride was his family. He cherished his three children, Lisa Bowen, Bill (Tina) Bowen, and Bob (Sue Ann) Bowen, with a love that knew no bounds.
His adoration extended to his numerous grandchildren: Steven, Sean, Travis, Casey, Courtney, Trevor, Leah, Steven, Christopher, Christy, Tyler, Kendra, and Zachary.
And as if that weren't enough, he welcomed the joy of great-grandchildren into his life as well. Alexia, Ariyana, Jordyn, Colton, Sawyer, Brayden, Karlee, Rylee, and Brody held a special place in Pap's heart, bringing immeasurable happiness to his final years.
Pap will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pap is preceded in death by his loving and loyal wife of 54 years, Sandra Bowen, as well as his parents, Alfred Glenn Bowen Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Bowen. He rejoins his sisters, Cora Bennett and Garnett Gorrell.
To honor and celebrate Pap's life, visitation will take place on November 22nd at 1400 Eoff Street, from 10 a.m. until the service at 12 p.m. The service to commemorate his life will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Homes at 12 p.m. Following the service, a procession will lead from 1400 Eoff Street to Park View Cemetery, where Pap's interment will take place.
