ARLEY McCORMICK

Arley Walter McCormick, 93, of Triadelphia, WV, died Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Peterson.

He was born May 23, 1930, son of the late Charles Reed Sr. and Bessie Isabelle Ackerman McCormick.

Arley was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 1 and Eagles Aerie 1891. He was a delivery truck driver for 17 years and later retired as a warehouse foreman after 20 years for the Nabisco Co.

Arley enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Canada. He was also an athlete throughout the years, playing fast pitch softball and golf. He was inducted not only to the Wheeling Bowling Hall of Fame, but also to the West Virginia State Bowling Hall of Fame.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy McMasters McCormick in 2011; two brothers, his twin, Charles Reed McCormick Jr. and Thomas E. "Skeeter" McCormick; two sisters, Pearl Neuhardt and Martha Harkless; and daughter-in-law, Dora McCormick.

He is survived by his son, George A. McCormick of Triadelphia; grandson, Morgan Arley McCormick of Wheeling; granddaughters, Stella and Arley McCormick; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. and 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. with Rev. Debra Dague officiating at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-242-2311). Interment in Park View Memorial Gardens.
