DICK SCHOENE

Dick Schoene, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2023, at the age of 84. Born on January 31, 1939, in Wheeling, West Virginia, he was the loving son of Richard W. and Angela Schoene.

Dick dedicated many years of his life as a Pipefitter for Wheeling and Pittsburgh Steel. His hard work and dedication were greatly admired by his colleagues and he took pride in his contributions to the industry.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dick had a passion for sports. He loved nothing more than cheering on his favorite teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the West Virginia University Mountaineers.

Dick was an active member of the Eagles Club in Moundsville and cherished the camaraderie and friendship found within the community.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard W. Schoene, and his mother, Angela Schoene. Dick is survived by his devoted wife, Norma J. Schoene, with whom he shared decades of love, support, and countless cherished memories.

Dick leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. His sister, Norma Jane Henderson, will miss him dearly. He is survived by his children Larry L. (Monika) Schoene of Jacksonville, Florida, Richard J. (Robin) Schoene II of Glen Dale, West Virginia, Michael Schoene of Cameron, West Virginia, and Dr. Elizabeth S. (Walter) Roberson of Florida. He will also be remembered by three adoring grandchildren, Christopher (Alishah) Schoene, Heather (Glen) Lowacz, Emily (Cliff) Selman and five great-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild. He leaves behind adoring nieces and nephews.

Services to honor and celebrate Dick's life will be held as follows. Visitation will take place on 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV, at Altmeyer Funeral Homes. Please join us in remembering Dick on Friday, from 4-7 p.m.

A Mass in remembrance of his life will be held on Saturday at St. Jude's Catholic Church, starting at 9 a.m. A procession will follow, taking Dick to his final resting place at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling, WV.
