James Louis Stout, 60, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at UPMC-Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born August 31, 1963 in Glen Dale, WV; the son of the late Wilma G. Crow Stout and John A. Litman, Jr.
Jim was retired from AEP Mitchell Plant as a coal equipment operator, where he made lasting friendships with his co-workers. He graduated from John Marshall High School; was Christian by faith; an avid hunter and outdoorsman; liked to work outside in his garden, farm and cut firewood; loved history and was very knowledgeable on many topics, especially the Civil War. His favorite pastime was spending time with his seven grandchildren and attending their various activities.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sonny and Timmy Stout; his cousin and best friend, Steven K. Litman.
Survivors include four daughters, Tiffany (John) Robbins of Moundsville, Samantha (Tyler) Hughes of Moundsville, Shanan Stout of Moundsville, Jamie Stout of Columbus, OH; seven grandchildren, John, Luke, and Allison Robbins, Hayden, Nathan, and Lauren Hughes, Silas Stout; his girlfriend, Lisa Degenova-Yoho; and friend who was like a son, Levi Roush.
Jim was a friend to all who knew him and was a loving and giving person. He will be missed by many, especially his children and grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Ron Wilfong officiating.
Interment to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Moundsville.
