JEAN MARTIN

Lois "Jean" (Hehr) Martin, 82, of Bethlehem, WV, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023, at Golden Oaks Residential Home. Jean was born on March 18, 1941 in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Margaret (Blake) and Earle Hehr.

She graduated from Triadelphia High School, where she was head majorette and later attended West Liberty State College.

Jean is survived by her loving husband, Donald L. Martin, Sr. and their three children, Donald "Donnie" Martin Jr, Kimberlee Martin and Shellee Armstrong also of Bethlehem. She is survived by her four grandchildren, Erika Madden (Zane) of Canonsburg, PA, Hunter Armstrong (Megan) of Moundsville, Haylee and Hollee Armstrong both of Bethlehem, all of whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren Declan Carter, Eden Jo, Travis Lee and Iylah Rae.

An avid gardener, she enjoyed growing and arranging flowers. As president of Beth-Acres Garden Club, she showed off her talents with crafts of all kinds. Being civic-minded, Jean was active in the Osiris Shrine with her husband, Don, and served as Worthy Matron for Eastern Star Mariam Chapter #1. A stay-at-home mom while her children were young, Jean also worked for the Kroger Company for many years.

Not a day went by where Jean didn't talk about how much her children and family meant to her; family was her most important achievement in life. Although Jean could be ornery, willful and sassy, her dedication and love for her family was unsurpassed.

The Martin family would like to thank Lori Casinelli, Joe Mullenbach and the entire staff at Golden Oaks Residential and Amedisys Hospice for their kindness, patience and loving care. The family is forever grateful. The family would also like to thank Rev. Debra Dague and the Elm Grove United Methodist Church, for their comforting visits, prayers and support.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311).

Interment will be private in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Shriners Children's Hospitals or Elm Grove United Methodist Church in Jean's name.
