Kef Tamara Oliver-Howard, 54, of Cameron, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10, 2023.
Kef was born June 5, 1969, in Memphis, TN, to Robert and Frances Oliver. She graduated from Evangelical Christian High School and received a BA in public relations and journalism at Memphis State University.
Kef worked in the restaurant industry early in her career. She was a corporate trainer for Ruth's Chris and a catering manager for Trilogy Restaurant in Nashville, TN. She met her husband Brian when she was a manager at Boardwalk Billy's Restaurant in Charlotte, NC. She transitioned toward her degree and was the public relations manager with Pro Sports Agency in Charlotte, NC and CBS Viacom Outdoor in Atlanta, GA.
Kef also was a journalist for the Independent Tribune in Concord, NC and The Intelligencer/Wheeling News-Register in Wheeling, WV. She worked as the Unit Coordinator in the Emergency Room at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV. She donated her time at Christian Help in Morgantown, WV and Blue and Gold Center in Cameron, WV. Kef worked for the last 12 years with her best friend Rita at Mason's where she shared her infectious personality with all who visited.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Brian Patrick Howard; her three children Carson Alyse Howard, Connor Brian Howard and Coryn Frances Howard of Cameron, WV; her brothers Steven Clay Dennington and Lance Keisa Oliver of Memphis, TN and many extended family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Kef was not only an amazing wife and mother but was truly a beautiful person inside and out. Her priority was her three children although her home was always open to anyone who needed a roof over their head or a shoulder to cry on. Her impact on others cannot be measured and she will be truly missed by those who knew her.
Memorial visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
