Lenora Marie Caruso, a beloved wife, devoted mother, adored grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023, in Wheeling, WV. She was born on July 27, 1928, in Clarksburg, WV.
Lenora dedicated her life to her family, friends, and community. Lenora's love of family was evident in her role as a mother to her seven children: Thomas Caruso (Michele), Stanley Caruso (Debra), Michael Caruso (Cheryl), Lisa Yahn (Robert), Paul Caruso, Stephanie Wise, and Michelle Caruso- DeCoufle.
Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Joseph Caruso, and her parents, Stanley and Florence Torchia. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joann Skaf, and her brothers, Guy "Trumpy" Torchia and Stanley "Junior" Torchia.
In addition to her children, Lenora leaves behind her brother, Frank Torchia, and her sister, Helen Claire "Dolly" Smith. She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her 20 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three great grandchildren on the way.
Visitation will be held at Altmeyer-Elm Grove Chapel on Friday, November 10, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:15 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 11, at 10:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church. Following Mass, Lenora will be laid to rest in the Chapel Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Michael Catholic Church, the Welty Apartments or Gigi's Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Centers. Contributions can be made online at www.tmcfunding.com.
