MARY CONAWAY

Mary Louise Conaway, 74, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on November 17, 2023, at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV.

Born on October 7, 1949, Mary brought laughter and joy into the lives of everyone she knew.

Known for her quick wit and love of good music, Mary was a force to be reckoned with. She spent many years as the Store Manager of Convenient Food Mart as well as a Team Member at Team Sledd Distributor, where she retired from. But it wasn't just work that brought her happiness – Mary's interests included spending time with her beloved nieces and nephews, doting on her feathered companions, and indulging in the best music from various genres.

Mary's passing may leave an empty space, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Evelyn (Maxwell) Conaway, her sister Ellen Clegg, and brother-in-law Mike Lake.

She is survived by her loving sister Bonnie Lake. Her impact extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Corey (Heather) Clegg, William (Mikida) Clegg, Mike (Holly) Lake, Sean (Hannah) Lake, Dilan (Krisi Kirlangitis) Lake, MacKenzie (Josh) Borden, and Brittany (Liz McArthur) Clegg, along with their children Karleigh, Aidan, Silas, Kaci, Josie, Allie, Preston, Paxton, and great-great nephew George will forever carry the memories of their beloved Aunt Mary.

In honor of Mary's life, a memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 3-7 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home Benwood-McMechen Chapel, located at 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, WV 26040.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heart and Soul Parrot Rescue through www.TMC Funding.com. This organization reflects her love for her own feathered babies Lymon, Grace and Tutu.
