Mona M. Smith, age 87, of Moundsville, WV died Monday, November 20, 2023 in WVU Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
She was born May 3, 1936 in Moundsville, the daughter of the late Marion T. and Kathryn Kimple Shimp.
She was a retired dietary supervisor from Mound View Health Care Center; a member of Trinity Episcopal Church; and she loved her dogs, Tyrone & T.J.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; her 1st husband, Emmett E. Lucas; 2nd husband, Charles E. Smith; two brothers, Donald "Bud" Shimp and Thomas Shimp.
Survivors include two daughters, Ramona (Glenn) Cunningham of Moundsville and Joy Black of Wheeling; a son, John E. Lucas of SC; a sister, Mary Lou Edmondson; five grand children; eight great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Private Memorial Service will be held by the family at Trinity Episcopal Church, Moundsville.
