Richard Francis "Buck" Burke, 95, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, with family by his side.
He was born in Wheeling on June 4, 1928, a son of the late Richard and Elizabeth (Green) Burke. Buck was a US Army Korean War Veteran and served in the 7th Unit Infantry. He retired from Heublein Inc as a Marketing Manager after many years.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dolores Burke and a son, Richard Burke.
He is survived by his two sons, Terence (Melissa) Burke and Kevin Burke both of Wheeling; two grand- children, Collin Burke MD, of Cincinnati, OH and Jessica Burke of Wheeling; one great- grandson, Gabriel Going; several siblings, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, November 12, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a 7 pm vigil service at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St. Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 13 at 10 am at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
