Bernard "Bernie" McNulty Jr., age 89, of Wheeling passed away November 6, 2023 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
He was born April 3, 1934 in Wheeling, WV son of the late Bernard and Charlotte Miller McNulty.
Bernie was a retired technician from Allied Chemical (and its successor companies) in Moundsville and a US Army veteran.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life Wanda Dale McNulty, and his former wife Mary Weekly, with whom he raised four children.
Survivors include his sister: Joan Block formerly of New Martinsville; three sons: Scott (Maya) McNulty of Bethesda, MD, John McNulty of Albany, CA, and Christopher (Natalie) McNulty of Louisville, KY; one daughter: Rebecca Cregar of St. Petersburg, FL; several grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Joyce Dawson of Columbus, OH and her two sons: Brent and Scott Dawson.
Bernie will be remembered for many things. He was a caregiver for many older family members and neighbors, always looking after the needs of others when he wasn't growing the most delicious tomatoes and corn in his garden at the Mt. Olivet home he shared with Wanda. He and Wanda traveled the world after retirement, taking many cruises to the Caribbean, Europe and Alaska. Beyond the love for his children, Bernie was a Steeelers Super Fan, never missing a game on television and was thrilled whenever he could see a game in person. He will be missed.
There will be no visitation.
Private interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling will be held by the family in the spring 2024.
