Darlyn Ruth Groggett Klatt, 91, of Wheeling, WV, died Friday, December 8, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 19, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Jack and Kathryn Devlin Groggett.
Darlyn was a Catholic by faith, a teacher at Blessed Trinity in Wheeling and St. Francis Xavier in Moundsville, and a member of the Fort Henry Piece Makers Quilting Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Klatt, Sr.; son, John Klatt, Jr.; and sister, Jackie McColloch.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Worcester of Piedmont, OH, Jennifer (Rick) Frey of Wheeling, Melinda (Tracy) Baldwin of Largo, FL and daughter-in-law, Marcy of Pembroke Pines, FL; grandchildren, James (Yoselin) Klatt, Robert Klatt, Leigh Anne (Michael) Hill, Larry (Rebecca) Worcester, Sarah Worcester, Erin Worcester, and Danny (Shelley) Spurlock; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Wheeling (304-277-2722).
Darlyn took joy in many things, but none more than big family gatherings that included great food, music, and dancing. The love she had for her family will forever remain in their hearts.
