EUGENE “GENE” SINGER

He was born January 18, 1942, in Wheeling, WV, where he resided all of his life.

Eugene was a graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, West Liberty State College and LSU School of Banking.

Known by many as “Pappy,” he enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren. His family was his entire world. He was also an avid Notre Dame enthusiast and looked forward to his yearly trips to campus.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Diane Grim Singer; sister, Paula Singer; and brother- in-law, Thomas Naegele.

Surviving are his son, Mark Singer of Wheeling, WV; daughters, Deb (Mark) Blessing of Columbus, OH, Kristine (Dale) Stanford of Wheeling, WV and Dawn (Kyle) Wood of Belmont, NC; grandchildren, Kadie Stanford, Noah Singer, Megan (Michael) Gittings, Hannah Singer, Micah Singer, Kieran Wood, Aidan Wood and Kimber Hardwick; and siblings, Sr. Joan Singer, Mary (Thomas) Breiding, Carol (George) Hersey, Janice Naegele and David (Paula) Singer.

In respect of Eugene’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Father Joseph Wiley as celebrant.
