FLORIDEA PROVENZANO

Floridea Provenzano, 94, of Warwood, WV passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 with family by her side.

She was born October 19, 1929 in Follansbee, WV, the daughter of the late Antonio and Concetta (Lapiano) Nazionale.

She was the seventh child amongst eight children. Survived by her younger brother Tony (Brother Giuseppe) Nazionale of Abbey of Gethsemani.

After graduating from Follansbee High School, she had many adventures in her convertible Studebaker, especially trips to the Jersey Shore with her girlfriends. Then, while attending Business School, she was introduced to the love of her life, her late husband Tony Provenzano. Floridea and Tony moved to Warwood in 1957 to start a long wonderful life together raising their six children: Jim (Melissa), Martha (Dan), Monica, Teresa (Bruce), Anthony, and Natalie (Alex). She has 12 beautiful grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was an inspiration to us all with her dedication to volunteer work within her community: lifelong involvement with Corpus Christi parish and school; WPHS Boosters; tax preparer at the Ohio County Library; poll volunteer; and much more. She very much enjoyed her world travels with family and special friends as well as her years of golfing, bowling and card playing. Floridea was loved and will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends. She was a true matriarch.

Family and Friends will be received at Kepner Funeral Home-Burke Chapel, in Warwood on Tuesday December 5, 2023 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
