GARY BARTSCH

He was born in Glen Dale, WV the son of Robert L. Bartsch and the late, Betty Crow Bartsch.

Gary retired from Consolidated Coal Company-Bailey Mine where he worked as a mechanic in the outside shop. He would stay busy after retirement by enjoying many trips with his wife and friends and assisting his son with maintenance and renovations on numerous rental properties.

He was a member of American Legion Post # 3, Moundsville; Fraternal Order of Eagles Erie #986 in Davis, WV and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Glen Dale.

Gary was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, having hunted all over the United States and parts of Canada. He served as a partner with Jason Martyn-Lone Pine Outfitting out of Sundre, Alberta, Canada where he was at one time the U.S. representative for arranging many top-quality hunts.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael “Mick” Bartsch.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Cindy Bartsch; two sons, Eric (Jodie) Bartsch of Glen Dale and Robert (Mariann) Bartsch of Wheeling; his father, Robert L. Bartsch of Thomas, WV formerly of Glen Dale; five grandchildren, Bailee, Nolan, Alexis, Codi and Braydon; several cousins, including his cousin, Dave (Debbie) Bartsch of Glen Dale, WV.

Family will receive friends on Sunday from 1pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville with Chaplin Jon Hudnall officiating.
