Georgette M. Otten, 103, of Wheeling, passed away Sunday evening, December 24, 2023, at Maplewood Healthcare Center of Bridgeport.
She was born in Union, NJ, on September 29, 1920, the daughter of the late George T. and Emma Mae Marion.
Georgette is survived by her four children, Georgette B. Griffith of Good Hope; Gregory K. (Ann) Otten of Houston, TX; Robert J. Jr. (Terri) Otten of Charlotte, NC; Glenn A. (Martha) Otten of Woodlands, TX; and the Otten Grandchildren, Michael S. Otten of Houston, TX; Eric (Amanda) Otten of Cypress, TX; Chris L. (Jessica and their son AJ) Otten of Spring, TX; Robert J. Otten III of Garner, NC; and Bethany T. Otten of Charlotte, NC; great-grand children, Luke Dowe Otten, Alice Rose Otten and Helen Grace Otten of Cypress, TX.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Robert J. Otten of Wheeling; and her sister Helyn Spillane of Union, NJ.
Following raising her children she went to work as a receptionist at Oglebay Park Resort in Wheeling for 6 years.
She moved to Atlanta, Georgia and became the Gift Shop Manager and buyer for Terrace Garden Hotel for 6 years and then retired. Georgette then moved in 2001 to Charlotte, NC and lived there until 2016. She moved to Bridgeport, WV to Maplewood Assisted Living and then to Maplewood Healthcare Center.
Georgette loved to read, play golf, draw, and shop at specialty stores.
