Mickey Leroy Hercules, age 66 of Moundsville, WV died Monday, December 11, 2023 in Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV.
He was born September 18, 1957 in Wheeling, the son of the late George and Alma Ruckh Hercules.
Mickey was a 1975 graduate of Wheeling High School; a retired lineman for Verizon Communications in Wheeling, having worked for 30 years;
Mickey loved his family; he loved spending time with them and his friends; and especially loved spending time and playing with his beloved grandson, Killian.
He was a person with many interests. He loved photography and taking pictures of his family and friends, and using his drone to capture the beauty of nature. He loved to fish, ride motorcycles, watch hockey, and he helped to start a softball team in the Wheeling area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia L. Daugherty.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Wood Hercules; a step- daughter, Mandy (Craig) Norton of Moundsville; his grandson, Killian Norton; step-sons, Micah Holmes of Charlottesville, VA and Mark Rich of Moundsville; a brother, Douglas (Barbara) Hercules of Titusville, FL; and many beloved cousins.
Mickey had a special fondness for his many nieces and nephews who also survived him, along with his dog, Anna and three cats, Angel, Fancy and Flea.
Mickey will be missed greatly by his family, friends and his grandson, Killian who he referred to as "My Little Buddy" and in return, called him "Poppy"; which meant the world to Mickey.
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 1pm until time of funeral service at 3pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville with Pastor Tony Romano officiating.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Marshall County Animal Shelter.
