Robert "Bob" D. Edgell, 74, of Wheeling passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 5, 1949, son of the late Earl and Alice Gump Edgell.
He retired as superintendent from Wheeling Country Club and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.
Bob will always be remembered for his love of repairing and restoring cars with his son and for, along with his wife, Donna, opening their home and hearts to anyone needing help.
He loved his family, warm weather and the Heritage Port. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Walton Edgell; son, Richard Edgell; brother, Gene Edgell; and sisters, Shirley Ramsey and Judy Hercules.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Fortney Edgell; children, Sherry Mahan Hall, Michelle and Douglas Edgell and Charles Turner; stepchildren, Chuck Leach and Sherry Robbins; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Frances Maxwell; brothers, Joseph and Edward Edgell; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
