BOB MILLER

"Bob" Robert Charles Miller, of Wheeling, WV, age 94, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at home with his family at his side.

He was born August 24, 1929, in Wheeling, the son of the late Charles H. and Sarah E. (Stamp) Miller.

Bob was a graduate of WVU with a degree in engineering and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity there. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, worked for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and later as a broker for Legg Mason. He was a member of Edgwood Lutheran Church and later St. Michael Catholic Church. Bob was also a long-time member and officer of the Elm Grove Lions Club, a charter member of Friends of Wheeling, and many other groups and organizations serving the Wheeling community.

Bob's hobby interests included contract bridge, woodworking, photography, ballroom dancing and crossword puzzling. He enjoyed listening to folk music, bluegrass, and Dixieland jazz. In retirement he travelled extensively to five continents and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. From his childhood, he returned often and sponsored regular family reunion vacations at Capon Springs, WV.

Bob's easy-going congeniality and ever active sense of humor made him a memorable friend to everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Rosemary (Eisenhauer) Miller, beloved daughter- in-law, JoEllen (Morton) Miller, and granddaughter, Kate Elizabeth Miller.

Bob is survived by his brother, Charles H. Miller; three sons, "Mark" Charles Mark Miller (Susan), "Ted" Edward Lee Miller, "Greg" Robert Gregory Miller (Tammy); seven grandchildren, Keith (Katylin), Zane (Carmen), Eliza (Katie), Troy (Giuliana), Luke, Brooke, and Clare; and his great grandson, Addison.

Friends will be received on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-232- 2732). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1225 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003 at 11 am on Saturday, February 3, 2024, with Father Paul Cabrita as celebrant. Interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Valley Hospice, Children's Home of Wheeling, Wellsprings Village, Inc of Houston TX, or the charity of your choice for the support of Wheeling's homeless people.
