Donald Bradley Shilling, age 70 of Moundsville, WV died Saturday, January 20, 2024 in WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
Don was born to Cloyd W. Shilling and Patricia M. Bradley Shilling of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Shilling, and his beloved son, Heath Bradley Shilling.
He is survived by his soul mate and wife of 49 years, Rosa Lee Ryan Shilling; his brother, Bill (Deb) Shilling; sister, Louise Shilling, sister, Patti Shilling; his cherished children, Robert (Shae) Shilling and Amber (Bobby) Shaw.
Don aka "Bumpy" also leaves behind 4 adored grandchildren; Bobby (Katelyn) Shaw, Kyle (Christy) Shilling, Caitlin (Colton) Guy, and Ezra Shilling; 3 great- grandchildren; MacKenzie Shaw, Carter Shilling, and Luke Shaw: and a great- grandchild on the way.
Don was born on October 4th, 1953. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years. He and his family were stationed several places in the United States and made life-long friends. Upon returning home to Moundsville, Don worked for the Department of Highways in Glen Dale, where he finally retired.
Don spent most of his time serving his loved ones and his community; he was appointed to the board of the Moundsville FOP Civil Service Commission; and volunteered countless hours for the WV Gold Star Families. When Don wasn't busy helping out in his community you could find him riding his motorcycle or slingshot on the open road with his wife, son, and daughter.
Don adored his wife, kids, and especially his grandkids and made many special memories with them.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 2pm.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville where the Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside Services.
In the end, we are all stories, remembered by the adventures we had, the achievements we made, and the people we loved. Don made sure his story was a great one. We won't cry because it's over, we will smile because it happened. Love you, mean it.
