Douglas Rehm Torbett, I, 73, of McMechen, WV, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 19, 1951, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Robert McMahon Torbett, Sr. and Virginia Eleanor Smith Aquaro.
Douglas was a retired truck driver for Traco in Cranberry Township and also retired from Eagle Priority Mail in Cranberry Township, PA. He was a Christian by faith.
He was very outgoing and made friends with everyone he met. He had a heart of gold and treated everyone like family. He treasured everyone in his life, and his family was the most important thing in his life. He was always making people laugh and cheered everyone up. Douglas loved kids, his pets, and was a hero to all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard & Robert Torbett, Jr.
He is survived by his 4 children, Patricia (Frank) Anderson of Steubenville, OH, Douglas Torbett, II of Bellaire, OH, Michael Torbett of Wilmington, NC & Bobbi Jo Torbett of Bridgeport, OH; brother, Donald Torbett, Sr. of Chillicothe, OH; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 PM at Truth Baptist Church, 708 Lincoln Avenue, Steubenville, OH with Pastor Tim Block officiating. A meal will follow the visitation at the church.
