ERIC “RIC” CHAMBERLAIN

Eric (Ric) M. Chamberlain passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Liza's Place in Wheeling.

Ric grew up playing ball, restoring cars and chasing fun with his three brothers in Glen Dale. Fast on the track and swift with a joke, his demeanor brought him childhood friends that he cherished to the end.

After stints in law enforcement, Ric retired as a senior lab tech after 30 years at Bayer where he forged lasting bonds and met the love of his life.

He was WV proud, raising his boys amidst the landscape and the First Christian Church of Moundsville, being an avid collector of local antiques, and rooting for regional teams.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing and growing the best tomatoes ever tasted. You'd find him at his favorite haunts, the Prima Marina and the American Legion in Moundville, relishing the company of old and new friends. Or at his favorite vacation spot in Myrtle Beach teaching kids the thrill of the hunt for shark's teeth.

A gentle soul with strong character, slow to anger yet rushed to aid, he was a loyal steadfast friend. He strived to make us feel valued. He knew your name, engaged you and made you laugh.

A champion of cheer with thoughtfulness and humor his tools, kindness his guide and comfort his commitment, each short encounter built a vast legacy of purposeful moments to enrich our lives with joy brick-by-brick. We will miss them.

Ric is welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents Floyd (Joe) and Maxine, brother Brent and son Tannar.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Terri (Raske) Chamberlain; adoring son Micah and brothers Brad and Todd; life-long friend Nancy Wade; and in-laws David Raske, Judy Fisher and Kathy Hall. The family gives a special thanks to Valley Hospice caregivers Annie and Carol whom Ric appreciated very much.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11am with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating. Ric will be laid to rest privately.

In memory of Ric, the family welcomes the choice of flowers or a donation to Valley Hospice, 10686 SR 150, Rayland, OH 43943 or the American Legion Post 3 800-1st Street, Moundsville, WV 26041.
