Jerry Allen Knight, 86, of Glen Easton, WV died Saturday at Wheeling Hospital.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Freda Knight as well as his sister, Betty Cook.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy is his wife of 59 years, Karen Knight, daughters, Michelle Knight of Wheeling, Melissa (John Fox) Knight of Glen Easton, one grandson, Jarrett (Jenny) Blake of Moundsville, one great grandson, Landry, who brought a great deal of joy to Jerry, one brand new great granddaughter, Kollins, as well as, one brother Greg Knight of Glen Easton.
Jerry was an avid supporter of the area livestock clubs, a very successful businessman for 47 years with Knights Farm Supply and a very dedicated lifelong farmer. Jerry greatly enjoyed serving other farmers and loved seeing each and every customer, who eventually became more like family. Having a selfless heart, Jerry also served his country with the WV Army National Guard, 150th Armored Calvary Regiment, being active in 1961-62 during the Berlin Crisis.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday 11:00am until the time of service at 12:00, noon, on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, WV with Rev. Don Rush as Celebrant and full Military Rights. Interment will immediate follow at Oak Grove United Methodist Cemetery in Moundsville, WV.
