Barr, Larry J., 77, of the Mobley Community passed away on Sunday, January, 21, 2024 at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV.
He was born May 21, 1946 in Kingtown, WV, the son of the late Joseph and Reva Virginia Fisher Barr.
He was retired from the McElroy Coal Mine where he worked as an equipment operator. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Elva L. Barr, a daughter-in-law, Kathi Barr, three brothers, Roger, Ernest and John Barr, four sisters, Grace Marshall, Willa Belle Pyles, Shirley Barr and Betty Berry.
Surviving are three children, Roger Barr, Marsha Barr and Dennis (Shanna) Barr, ten grandchildren, Krista (Jordan) Stackpole, Dani (Gary) Harrison, Laura (Joey) Hayhurst, Amie Barr, Joey Barr, Marisa Shannon, Hallie Shannon, Trinity (Cody) Wood, Gabriel Leichliter and Jade Barr, ten great grandchildren, Karleigh, Juniper, Mya, Charlie, Zoey, Waylon, Elsie, Vinny, Kenton and Lydia, five sisters, Alice Sweeney, Rose Bonner, Mary Underwood, Cary Lindler and Katie Marshall, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3-7 PM at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, WV, where services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 1 PM. A military service will be held at the funeral home after the services. Interment at the Allen Cemetery, Mobley, WV. Online condolences may be expressed at palmerfuneral.com.
