Shirley Jean Ankrom, age 85, of Moundsville, WV, died Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in WVU Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
She was born January 12, 1939 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Matthew and Margaret Valembois Berletch.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, a former employee of Matt's Meat Market, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed walking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Matt, Jack, Larry, Chuck, and Ronnie Berletch: and a sister, Phyllis Hill.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Robert W. Ankrom, a son, Todd (Barbara) Ankrom, a daughter, Traci (Dan) Wood, three grandchildren, Whitney Collins, Hunter Ankrom, and Cody Wood, three great-grandchildren, Scarlett Grace Collins, Brinley Ankrom, and Copper Collins, two sisters, Patricia Muldrew and Judy (John) Davidson, and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 3-6pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 610 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville with Msgr. Samuel Sacus as celebrant.
Interment in McMechen Cemetery, McMechen, WV.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church.
