William Franklin Cox Sr., of Moundsville, WV passed away peacefully, at home on Friday, December 29, 2023.
He was born July 28, 1933, the son of the late Joseph Andrew Cox and Olive Grace Shultz Berisford.
He was a loving father by nature and was loved by so many families and friends.
Bill was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in 2014 by his lovely wife, Judy Ann.
Survivors include his four children, Thomas Cox and Bil (Karen) Cox, all of Moundsville, Joseph Cox of Cambodia, and Crystal Eckelberry of Flowery Branch, GA; a sister, Carol Sue (Reed) Hubbs of Glen Dale, WV; a sister-in-law, Shirley Horstman of KY; and a brother-in-law, Jerry (Linda) Mason of Moundsville; five grandchildren, Thomas (Mindy) Cox of Moundsville, Steph- anie (Charlie) White of Moundsville, Jacquelyn Cox of Moundsville, Megan (Ben) Gilbert of Wheeling, WV, and Justin Eckelberry of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2023 from 11am until time of service at 1pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville with Pastor Ronald Wilfong officiating and the Moundsville Honor Guard conducting Military Services.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
