ALAN DUNAWAY

Alan Edward Dunaway, 74, of Wheeling, WV went to his eternal home in heaven on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Alan was born October 15, 1949 in Wheeling, WV to the late Walter Alan Dunaway and Margaret Lally Dunaway. He was a member of Warwood United Methodist Church where he was involved in many ministries. Alan was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and anything WVU sports related. He was a graduate of Wheeling High School and attended West Liberty State College (University). Alan also served his country in Vietnam with the United States Army. Alan was employed by Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel for 43 years and retired from Wheeling Rubber.

In addition to his parents, Alan is preceded in death by his brother, James Dunaway.

His memory will continue to be lived on through his children, Chris (Dawn) Dunaway, Tim (Caroline) Dunaway, Lindsay (Joel) Karczewski, Chelsea Dunaway, and Lacey (Matt) Wolfe; his brothers, Donald Dunaway and Chuck (Doris) Dunaway and sister-in-law, Marina; his grandchildren, Ryan Dunaway, Luke Dunaway, Christian Dunaway, Julia Dunaway, Jake Puglin, Joel Karczewski, Maverick Karczewski, Clara Wolfe, and Carter Karczewski; several nieces and nephews, many friends, and special friend, Virginia Sapp.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 2pm until the time of service at 4pm at Warwood United Methodist Church, with Reverend Heather Rogers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Warwood United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Kepner Funeral Home-Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave. Wheeling, WV (304-277-2722).
