Barbara Jean Shields Grover, 84, of Bethlehem, WV passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
She was born May 23, 1939, in Ripley, WV to the late Arleigh Henry Shields & Hazel Mildred Vanscoy.
She was the proud owner of the Bridgeport Dairy Queen for 39 years and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She loved her family and her dogs.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Kenneth Shields, William "Bill" Shields, Allen "Dale" Shields, Richard Shields (her twin), and Jack Shields, and one grandchild, Heidi Bazar.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, Bruce Vernon Grover; her sister, Karen Shields Kirby, of Moundsville, WV; her daughter, Vicki (Andrew) Cecil, of Tazewell, VA; her son, Michael (Katherine "Sissy") Bukovich, of Boca Raton, FL; her step-daughter, Cindy (Tom) Regis, of Martins Ferry, OH; her step-son, Brian (Mary) Grover, of Raleigh, NC; fourteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Per Barbara's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Interment at Park View Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St. Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311).
